Exuma is part of the chain of 365 islands that form the Bahamas. These islands stretch lazily across the Tropic of Cancer about 300 miles southeast of the coastal United States.

The latest census shows us that the approximate population of the Bahamas is only 300,000 people. Great Exuma has a population of about 3,200 and Little Exuma has about 800 people.
According to the Washington Post, Great Exuma is one of the “10 most desirable international locations.” Exuma has also been chosen as a location of choice by the Four Seasons Hotel, as they have invested in an ultra luxury resort in 2003.
The Exuma is one of the most laid-back islands in the Bahamas. There is no hustle and bustle like in the nation’s capital and many other destinations in the world. There is very few traffic hence the reason for only one traffic light in Exuma, now how stressless can this be?
Most of the time you can feel as though you are the only person on the island and how many of us wish for this rear feeling? The beaches are never crowded; in most cases you may be the only one on the beach so you can enjoy every sound that nature has to offer without interruption.
Sunset views are breathtaking and unimpeded by high-rises, and the sky at nights is heavily decorated with the stars natural bright light that can only be experienced without the interference of man-made lightings.
There are many interesting activities in Exuma that the natives can be easily arranged. You can soak in all the serenity and beauty of Exuma by scuba diving or snorkeling, fishing, bonefishing, hiking, bicycling, power or sail boating, or exploring the island and beaches by taxi or rental car.
